Foreigner dan Stranger mempunyai arti yang sama. Dalam Bahasa Indonesia, kedua kata tersebut diartikan sebagai "Orang Asing". Namun dalam Bahasa Inggris, keduanya bermakna beda seperti penjelasan di bawah ini:

• FOREIGNER = Orang yang berasal dari negara Lain
  

Contoh:

1. Even though she had lived in England for five years, she still felt like a foreigner.

• STRANGER = Orang Yang Tidak Dikenal
  

Contoh:

1. My mother always warned me not to talk to strangers.
2. When you talk to your children about strangers, explain that no one can tell if strangers are nice or not nice just by looking at them and that they should be careful around all strangers.
